Youth Activities

For youth in grades 6 -12


Mission Statement

The purpose of the youth ministry of the First Presbyterian Church is to show(1) God's love, study(2) the Bible's teachings, serve(3) God with our abilities, seek(4) the Lord in worship and prayer, and support(5) one another as the body of Christ.

1. Evangelism - Matthew 22:37-39
2. Discipleship - Matthew 28:19-20 and Colossians 3:16
3. Ministry - 1 Peter 4:10
4. Worship - John 4:23-24
5. Fellowship - 1 Thessalonians 5:11 and 1 John 1:7

For grades 6-8 (PYG)

Sunday morning Church School Class
from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. in Room 206

Each week's lesson will revolve around a single key word or phrase significant to claiming life as a Christian - for example, journey, worship, commitment, praying. A wide variety of activities and an occasional video clip will enhance the weekly Bible story.


Sunday afternoon from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

PYG will meet for Bible study and fun activities, and then have dinner at 5:30 p.m. with the Youth Connection. Check The Epistle or Sunday's bulletin for meeting place.


 

For grades 9-12
(Youth Connection)
 

Sunday morning Church School Class
from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. in Kirk Hall

Ready...Set...RACE! This fall, youth will begin an amazing journey through the Bible. Each "leg" of the race will help build knowledge, holy habits, and faith as teens immerse themselves in the life-changing message of God's great love.

Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Youth Connection will have dinner with the PYG group and then have Bible study and special activities. Check The Epistle or Sunday's bulletin for meeting place.

 

First and Third Tuesday of each month

Youth Connection Bible study for girls at 7:00 p.m.
We are currently meeting at the home of Lori Fox.

Wednesday Afternoons

Youth Connection Bible study for boys at 4:30 p.m.
We are currently meeting in McMullen Chapel.
