Marvin Lindsay, Senior Pastor

Marvin joined the First Presbyterian community in 2016. A North Carolina native, he's a graduate of N.C. State University. Marvin also holds an M.Div. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta and a Ph.D. in the History of Christianity from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. He served congregations in Virginia and North Carolina, as well as two, yoked churches in Saline and Pettis Counties prior to being called to FPC.


Marvin likes to help people make connections with God and each other through preaching, teaching, and ministries of mercy and justice. His favorite Bible verse is John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

Marvin met his wife Laura at N.C. State. They were married in 1994. They're the parents of two red-headed young adults. Marvin enjoys taking walks with his wife, gardening, hiking and camping, reading, and travel.

Jonathan Reinink, Associate Pastor for Congrega-tional Care and Growth

Jon is a Dutch-Canadian farm boy from Ontario who found a spiritual home serving the PC(USA) while studying in New Jersey. Jon is an alumnus of Redeemer University (BSc, Math & French), Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div./M.A.), and Boston University (D.Min.). In 2020, Jon was granted the professional CFRE designation, recognizing his work in the fields of philanthropy and non-profit management.

Prior to joining FPC CoMo, Jon's service included several formative years in Newtown, Pennsylvania, where he was ordained as a temporary associate pastor; a fellowship in parish ministry at Second Presbyterian in Indianapolis; and, most recently, engaging churches and raising support for the Presbyterian Mission Agency. His academic and professional background make Jon a self-proclaimed "jack of all trades, master of none"!

In his spare time, Jon can be found with his partner, Bobby, grabbing a drink or catching up with friends (new and old), dabbling with new hobbies (framing, as of late), or scheming their next road trip to visit family in Kentucky or Canada. 


Preston Turley, Director of Campus Ministries and Contemporary Worship Leader

Preston Turley is the Director of UKIRK Ministries Columbia MO, the campus ministry of First Presbyterian Church as well as Director of The Offering, our contemporary worship gathering. Preston has a Bachelor's degree in Youth and Family Ministry from Mid-America Nazarene University. Building relationships with college students and involving them in real dialogue and education about their faith, as well as leading the people of God in worship are Preston's great passions. 


Preston was born and raised in Kansas City and has lived in Columbia since 2009. He is blessed to be walking through life with his beautiful wife, Danielle, and their three sons Grayson, Brantley, and Miles. The family enjoys being super silly, working in the garden, eating BBQ and screaming their heads off for the Mizzou Tigers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Royals! He also enjoys cooking, songwriting, and performing in his band, the Preston Turley Band. It is Preston's prayer that he can lead as a servant, remembering the heart and character Jesus found in Matthew 20:20... "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Audra West, Director of Youth and Children's Ministry

Audra became part of the First Presbyterian staff here in Columbia in March of 2020 as the Director of Youth and Children’s Ministry.  She has always enjoyed working with children and youth, both in her church and in the public school setting.

Audra grew up in Oklahoma and completed her degree in Elementary Education at Oklahoma City University.  After graduation Audra began her Career in education by teaching 5th Grade in Mounds. She continued her career in education when her family moved to Columbia in the summer of 2008. While living in Columbia she taught in several classrooms with CPS. 

Audra enjoys her life here in Columbia with her husband Jason, and their son Garrick, who are also both part of the FPC Family. She loves spending time with her family, working in the yard and taking walks with their dog, Bella.

“I have always placed a high importance on the value of a strong church family in the development of young people. I look forward to helping lead FPC Columbia using its vision statement - Disciples Making a Difference. Let’s not forget the words from Proverbs 22:6; Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Administrative and Support Staff

Nancy Foote, Executive Administrative Assistant

Nancy grew up in Columbia, graduating from Hickman High School as well as MU. She taught art for Fulton Middle School and St. Peter Catholic School for over 35 years. Nancy became part of the staff in early December 2017. Nancy enjoys paper casting sculptures and utilizing techniques typically used for other media. She also enjoys travelling, especially to visit the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. The Bible verse that helps her the most is Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Fran Muench, Financial Coordinator

Fran joined the FPC staff as Financial Coordinator in June 2019.  Her career background includes experience in operations leadership, project management, and financial services.  Fran is a graduate of William Woods University, and she earned her Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College of Financial Services. 



Fran grew up in the Presbyterian Church as a minister’s daughter.  She, her husband, and their two adult children are all ordained Elders at Trinity Presbyterian.  Fran is active in the Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network.  Her hobbies include gardening, fitness walking, reading, and singing soprano in the Trinity choir.  She also enjoys traveling to new places and sightseeing.  The Muench family members are fans of the Cardinals, Royals, and Chiefs, as well as Mizzou athletics.  Fran is inspired by the Bible verse Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” 

Tony Hayes, Custodian

Tony joined the First Presbyterian staff in October, 2018. Tony was born and raised in Moberly, MO, where he ran his own cleaning business from 1985-1996. Tony enjoys many hobbies including fishing, hiking, exercising, and going to flea markets. When he is not at the church, Tony enjoys being outdoors as much as possible. Tony has enjoyed getting to know all of our members!

James Scott, Assistant Custodian

James cleans and manages the First Presbyterian facilities on weekday evenings and weekends. He joined our team in 2019.
