UKIRK College Ministries
Because faith on campus matters.
UKIRK is a student faith community of the Presbyterian Church (USA) serving the colleges and universities of Columbia, MO including Columbia College, Stephens College, and the University of Missouri. Our name means "University Church"- "Kirk" is an old Scots-English word for Church. Mostly, we are participants and leaders in the larger church, and we host events to support the well-being and faith explorations of students on their educational and vocational journey.

UKirk Events
The events listed here are created specifically with the intention of supporting students and learning from their leadership! Students are also welcome to join any of our ordinary church groups and events, like picnics, mission projects, book club, Hand Bell Choir, Chancel Choir, etc.
Sunday Lunches
Once a month we go to lunch after church with Pastor Kati and UKIRK leaders. Join us for worship and then we will gather in the Welcome Center to walk somewhere downtown. Good conversation and Free Lunch! Sometimes we get dessert, too!

Did you know the Chez was one of the first Coffee Cafes in the country? Back in the 1960 & 70's Open Mic Nights provided a space for songwriters, poets, and bands to connect with an audience. Our University Students(UKIRK College Ministry) are looking to bring that back. On Friday, November 7th, we hosted our first Open Mic Night in the Chez, and we had a chill time. If you know any creatives who are looking for stage time, send them our way. Check back for information and sign up for our next event!
Conversations in the Chez
Semi-weekly discussions take place in the Chez during the Spring and Fall Semesters.
2026 Discussions
WEDNESDAY February 11 at 6:30p for a discussion and FREE PIZZA at the CHEZ .

At our next meeting of the First Presbyterian Ukirk Theology and Philosophy Discussion Group, we will be talking about an argument from the philosopher Yujin Nagasawa that both atheists and theists face versions of the problem of evil. Watch the video below to find a YouTube interview in which Dr. Nagasawa summarizes his argument.
